Terms of Service
The rules for using I Promise To, operated by I Promise To.
Overview
I Promise To operates the I Promise To website at i-promise-to.com.
These Terms of Service are between you and I Promise To ("we", "us", "our"). By using this site or purchasing a promise envelope, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Refund Policy.
1. The service
I Promise To lets you compose one or more short "promises", pay for them, and have them delivered to a recipient as a keepsake digital envelope — either immediately or on a scheduled date.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are acting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
3. Acceptable use
You are solely responsible for the content of every promise, name, and note you submit. You agree not to use I Promise to send anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, infringing, sexually explicit involving minors, or to spam anyone, distribute malware, or probe/scrape the service. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for a material breach of these Terms, non-payment, fraud or security risk, or repeated policy violations.
4. Intellectual property
The I Promise To website, software, brand marks and design are owned by I Promise To. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of your promise content and grant us a limited licence to host and display it solely so we can provide the service to you and your recipient.
5. Payments and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, in addition to our Refund Policy.
By completing checkout you confirm you have read and accept these Terms and our Refund Policy.
You may add several promise gifts to a basket and pay once. Each gift keeps its own recipient, delivery date, and share link — one payment does not merge delivery schedules.
6. Digital delivery
I Promise To is a digital product. Delivery is by secure link and/or email notification. Where permitted by law, you acknowledge that fulfilment may begin immediately or on your chosen delivery date. You have 30 days from your order date to request a refund under our Refund Policy (which exceeds the 14-day minimum refund window for digital purchases).
7. Service availability
We aim to keep the service running smoothly but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the six months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
